Hi, I’m Annie.
I help organizations solve the kinds of problems that don’t go away on their own.
The kinds of problems I’m talking about are the ones that can’t be solved by relying on existing processes, procedures or people in their places, because sometimes it’s the very way work gets done that needs to shift.
That might mean reimagining how a development pipeline is mapped for a cross-functional team, especially when conflicting timelines and priorities are slowing things down. Other times it calls for a deeper analysis of what’s causing tension between departments to determine whether a new tool, operating procedure, or communication rhythm could ease the strain. And often, it’s as simple as a single, well-timed question that helps an executive leader loosen the knot in their strategic planning.
As an Organizational Development practitioner, you can think of me as a professional untangler.
I specialize in process consulting, change management, and strategic advising to help tend to the pain points that are causing friction or stopping progress altogether. I partner with leaders and stakeholders to figure out the way forward, which for me is the really fun part: reimagining how work flows and how teams collaborate to get things moving again.
My favorite moment of any project often comes as a quiet shift in a conversation when an organizational leader lets out a small sigh of relief, as if to say, “Oh….we’re going to be able to figure this out after all.”
Yes, yes we are!
I love helping mission-driven teams untangle complexity so they can focus on the work that matters most to them. If that sounds like something you could use support with, I hope you’ll say hello!
Below are a few things about me that don’t quite fit on a standard 8.5” x 11” resume. But if you think I might be a good fit for your organization or project, I’d be happy to share that, too.
About Me
I’ve gotten to sit in seats all around the cross-functional conference table.
I’ve led teams across operations, marketing, training, and organizational development, and partnered closely with engineering and IT on enterprise-wide rollouts.
This cross-functional leadership experience has given me one of the most valuable assets of my career: a deep, first-hand understanding of the day-to-day challenges different teams face.
It allows me to serve as a translator between functions that speak different professional languages, assisting teams in resolving conflicts, and guiding them toward shared solutions that serve the whole organization.
I’ve built and managed remote teams for the past decade.
I have been leading fully remote and hybrid teams across towns and time zones since before virtual collaboration became the norm.
I've led dispersed teams in multiple contexts including:
a beloved global dining brand
an agile technology start-up breaking into international markets
and a mission-driven non-profit putting down roots
I specialize in shaping remote and hybrid models that aren’t simply reactive fixes to outdated office playbooks, but in contrast are sustainable, future-ready systems built for the way modern teams operate.
A central focus of my work is empowering leaders of dispersed teams with the skillset and structures they need to lead with confidence, wherever their people may be.
I’m a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner (with a focus on GenAI Adoption).
We’re living through a time of rapid technological upheaval, and the uncertainty and fear it brings is real.
I care deeply about the human side of this transformation. My work is rooted in helping organizations navigate the shifting terrain of tech adoption with empathy, clarity, and a strategic eye on what’s next. I believe that closing the gap between where we are and where we’re going takes more than just new tools and logistics; it takes thoughtful, people-first change strategies.
Beyond AI adoption, I’ve also led enterprise-wide adoption initiatives for new POS systems, learning platforms (LMS), and communication tools for a global company with over 100,000 team members. And I have led behavior change initiatives resulting in a 30% drop in guest complaints across over 1,750 franchised locations.
Change isn’t always easy, but it’s often the first step towards something even better. Guiding that journey is at the heart of what I do.
My roots are in instructional design.
E-learning, video training, live workshops, and experiential case-based learning are all in my wheelhouse.
Thinking like a trainer is one of the most valuable tools I bring to organizational work.
Most org design and development efforts require some level of upskilling and knowledge building to create shared understanding and a clear path forward.
I know how to design learning experiences that are worth the time, budget, and brain space - and how to avoid the ones that aren’t.
This is the part where I admit to the internet that I was on a competitive writing team when I was twelve.
Yes, we did have matching t-shirts, why do you ask?
I’ve never stopped writing, and it’s been a consistent thread throughout my career; a tool for clarity, connection, and alignment. Whether crafting messaging for executives, engaging with external partners, or onboarding new team members from diverse backgrounds, I’ve learned how to tailor communications to meet people where they are.
In today’s world of remote work and asynchronous collaboration, clear and concise writing isn’t optional, it’s essential.
My experience providing teams with technical writing support spans software documentation, SOP manuals, quick reference guides, and web content. I’ve also led professional development initiatives to build consistency in internal communications that help teams to correspond more effectively across roles and time zones so everyone stays on the same page.
If you think I may be a potential fit for your organization or project, I’d be glad to be in touch. I’m also happy to share my resume and any relevant portfolio materials that may help you get to know my skillset better.
Or, if you just think we’d be good additions to one another’s networks, by all means, drop me a line! Unexpected connections and thoughtful strangers make the world go ‘round, and I’m always open to meeting new people.
You can email me or find me on LinkedIn. It would be great to hear from you.
Where to Find Me
Let’s Get this Conversation Started!
It feels important to say somewhere on this site that I’ve completely changed my mind about networking.
I used to think I didn’t like it, mostly because it felt like gearing up for a social awkwardness battle armed with my nametag, sad appetizers, and facing a loop of “Soooo, what do you do?” on repeat forever. You know.
But, I’ve realized that the best connections often start simply with, “Hey, I saw this and thought of you!” And I believe good conversations have the power to change things…not just our work, but our lives, and the world in ways we can’t even begin to know at the outset.
With that in mind, I’ll share a few things that I never seem to get tired of chatting with other people about. You can consider this an open invitation to say hello. I’d love to hear what some of those things you never tire of too!
A Short List of Things I’m Always Up for Talking About:
Ice Cream Destinations: I come from ice cream country and I enjoy adding new entries into my international atlas of ice cream. My forever frontrunner is Mitchell's ice cream in Cleveland, Ohio. I’d love to hear what others I’ve been missing out on.
Audio Recs: I am always on the hunt for new podcasts, audiobooks, or music. An old Reply All episode called “The Case of the Missing Hit” is a top ten podcast episode for me. I have been listening to Robin Wall Kimmerer audiobooks lately because I love her writing and her voice. And I am known to make somewhat chaotic, but dare I say, perfectly balanced playlists for my friends because my musical interests are wide! I’m here for all the recommendations.
Kitchen Agriculture: I love experimenting with growing food in urban spaces where it might not be the most obvious place to find a garden, such a kitchen or a dining room. Curious to know, what is your favorite vegetable and why is it a sugar snap pea? Have you found any tricks for growing food where you live?
Neurodiversity in the Workplace…and beyond: I look forward to talking with others about ways to make the world more accessible for all the ways our brains work. I especially love connecting with others that are creatively approaching this topic within their own organizations.
The Social Impact of Technology: I’m ever fascinated by the amount of technological change humanity has experienced in the last year, let alone thirty, as well as the ways these changes have impacted home and work and everything in between. My first cell phone was a Nokia brick phone with a Kelly green faceplate. How about you?
The Places We’re From: I love hearing about the places people call home. What makes them special and how living there leaves its mark. I find I can be homesick for five different cities at once. Today though, I’m currently thinking about my favorite spot in Southern California. It’s one of the brightest lights on the California Coast.
And with that, I’ll pass the mic over to you if you’re so inclined to say hi…
Seals of Approval
“Annie is one of the best hiring decisions that I made during my time at IHOP. I initially brought her aboard because of her strong communication and technical documentation skills, which remain a hallmark of her work. I also quickly found that she demonstrated the intellect and grit required to be a talent and organizational leader in a business like ours — one that moves fast and has many moving parts.
She consistently led cross-functional teams through complex projects, including enterprise-wide tech implementations, strategic improvements to production pipelines, and the creation of talent development and leadership programs for a diverse audience. These initiatives required her to build consensus with peers and achieve buy-in from executive leaders. She always delivered by inviting others into the vision of these projects and always seeing the work through to the finish line, often on tight timelines.
Although Annie's professional skills are noteworthy, her people skills are impeccable. Respected by all in the organization, Annie is a model team member who genuinely cares for others. She can uplift the team through engaging professional development, mentorship, and leadership that doesn’t leave anyone behind. Annie’s overall skill set, combined with her extensive toolkit for leading in remote and hybrid environments, would be a valuable asset to any organization.”
